The power of Drupal community
There are many different ecosystems around, and as a strong Drupal house, Druid is also a part of one. Drupal’s success lies in its developer community which is among the largest open source communities in the world. But even the strongest community needs continuous and active participation to stay vibrant.
It’s the power of the community that turns a basic programmer into a committed Drupalist. The tagline of Drupal project, “Come for the code, stay for community”, really says it as it is. Within the community, people learn and teach, help and get helped. All parties benefit from this: developers, Drupal project and customers. From a customer’s point of view, it’s about being able to trust that Drupal stays reliable and secure by being continuously developed and improved. The community is always there to support the customer.
We are doing our part as best we can for both the Finnish and the international Drupal communities. We constantly appear at the better end of the Drupal projects contributor list, and our staff mentors Drupal core development sprints whenever they get the chance.
A functional community does not build solely around code - you also need a few campfires to exchange stories around. We are actively travelling around the globe in all sorts of Drupal events soaking in all we can and sharing tips and tricks we've learnt during different projects. Therefore the iconic Druid t-shirt is a common sight and a sought after souvenir in many DrupalCamps and DrupalCons. We sponsor several events annually and sometimes take part in organizing them either with our full staff or with individual Druids working in a less official capacity outside of working hours. DrupalCamp Helsinki, held last November, was the latest Finnish event where we were involved.
Unexceptionally, year 2016 will entail several events and meetups around the world. Our most active participants are Lauri Eskola and Bart Feenstra, but especially DrupalCons and the Finnish meetups attract bigger Druid crowds. Druid will be involved in at least the following upcoming events:
