Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland

TEK is Finland's largest organization for graduate engineers and architects, and its website plays an important role in acquiring new members and providing services for the current ones. However, due to an outdated user experience, the organization's website did not work up to its full potential, and Druid was chosen to renew the technical implementation of the service.
What did we do?
We built a fresh, mobile friendly TEK.fi service on Drupal 7. Technical integrations to the single sign-on (SSO), magazine subscription, and the Alfresco document management systems ease the work for both the administrators and the members. The content was linked to TEK's experts, so that the expert in charge of the field in question can easily be contacted with a push of a button. As a part of the project, Druid built the TEK Salary Surveyor app, which visualizes wage statistics for the user.
Results
The new website helps TEK rise above the rest among the labor organizations in Finland. An integrated user satisfaction poll conducted during the beta phase verified that the project was a success. Content is easier to find, and the user experience for both the administrators and members has improved markedly. During the renewal project, some of TEK's content that previously required signing in has now been made public, which makes search engine indexing possible.
Drupal was previously known to TEK, and there was no wish to change a working platform. The renewal focused on improving the end user's service experience, to better the search engine optimization, and to modernize the site so that the growing segment of mobile device users would feel at home.
The project kicked off on July 2015. The site's frame with an initial layout was completed during the summer holiday season. The functionality was tweaked throughout the fall and the new site was released after a short beta phase at the start of November.
